His children were baptised but he was probably Jewish. His housekeeper ABIGAIL JACOBS is listed as his wife in the Census of 1851. Could she be “Abigail JACOBS . I am the wife of Woolf Jacobs, who keeps a tobacconist’s shop in Featherstone-street. ” Old Bailey t18390204-731
