Asks to be buried among his ancestors which suggests a Jewish burial. This line has paternal Jewish roots but married out of the Jewish custom. There is no reference in his will to his wife or children. However. his son Isaac William referred to his father as Samuel Cardozo Cambridge Heath Middlesex merchant in 1821 London Freedom of the City Admission Papers. This appears to coincide with his baptism 4 January 1821 and his dob 1806.In addition. there are other baptisms of siblings Emanuel b 1807. Harriet b 1811. Benjamin b 1815 all baptised the same day October 18 1820. The third son Joseph Benjamin aka Joseph Barrow Cardozo aka Joseph Barrow had a coat of arms as did his father. Samuel Cardozo married Ann Page in a Church of England London ceremony in 1796 and the line appears to have given up the Jewish faith with marriages outside the Jewish customs.
