City of London Census<\/strong><\/span> – Names abstracted from An Index of London inhabitants within the city walls in 1695. Based on assessments for 80 parishes made under the Act of 6 & 7 Wm. and Mary.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

City of London Tax 1693 \u2013 1694<\/strong><\/span> – We abstracted the following names from the records of the Four Shillings in the Pound 1693 to 1694 tax, raised by Parliament to fund King William\u2019s European warfare. We do not guarantee that we have identified every listed Jewish person and may have included some who were not: this applies in particular to names of Spanish and Italian origin. For further information see here<\/a>.\u00a0 Unfortunately we have no records in the SynagogueScribes main database for this very early post-readmission period.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jewish Will extracts 18th – 19th Century<\/span><\/strong> – <\/span><\/span><\/span>Many of the extracts are taken from Wills available at the National Archives <\/a>Prerogative Court of Canterbury (PCC) Wills made between 1384 and 12 January 1858 as well as some available at the LMA London Metropolitan Archive. These extracts were prepared, and generously contributed, by David Alexander. In some of the notes abbreviations are used.
