A full account of the History of Borough Synagogue can be found in the History of Borough Synagogue by Rev. M. Rosenbaum, starting with its creation in 1800 and detailing many of its congregation.

In 1893 a special Hannukah service was held at The Borough for Jewish soldiers and volunteers by Rev. Francis Lyon Cohen who was also the Jewish chaplain at Aldershot.
